Hey Everyone!!
This month Ive watched so many more TV shows than films as they're shorter and I can watch them between my work hours. Also I always get so engrossed into TV shows as there's so much more information you can get into the extensive hours the storyline gets spread across. Im loving reality tv right now and I have a huge love hate relationship with it but its just a great escape right now!
But lets get onto the list:
www.netflix.co.uk
TV
Sweet Tooth:
This was so sweet and heartbreaking all at the same time. Its about a post apocalyptic world which has had a sickness spread throughout the population and has wiped most of it out, yet at the same time a generation of human/animal hybrids were born. We follow along with a young hybrid called Gus and his experience trying to find lost family. After finishing season 1 and watching the characters bond and the clashes throughout, I need season 2!
Too Hot to Handle:
I watched this because I watched The Circle US which has Chloe from To Hot To Handle on ir but that then started the reality tv run I've been on.
If you've not seen this, its essentially a group of men and women who have to form relationships without any sort of physical sexual contact.. which we all think sounds simple, but the people on this show just love to kiss each other, even if they loose $3,000 everytime! I always just am so mad at everyone when they do something silly and loose money on shows with a prize, almost as if I am in the draw to win it haha!! But THTH is one of those silly ones where Im not invested in the people, I just always need to know what happens next for whether I should be like OMG Why?! Or not.
Are you the one? :
Another silly relationship show, but this one is all about trying to find your 'Perfect Match'. All the people on the show have been selected with their on paper Perfect pair and they have to match themselves up with that person to win $1M...
Yet so many people end up liking people who aren't their match and then being so sad, so to me its a silly show but a fascinating concept if they did it properly.
The Worlds Most Amazing Vacation Rentals:
I HAVE HUGE WANDERLUST RIGHT NOW! I cannot get across how much I want to visit all the places around the world and do all the cool things, so this programme just was giving me all the ideas and inspiration to plan ten million holidays!
Never Have I Ever : Season 2:
This one is very on the fence for me. I loved it, it was very emotional and I did tear up a lot as I got so attached to the characters BUT I feel like the problems that cropped up within it and was the main crisis points of the show were all happening as the main character was very self destructive. She has so many major life events happen to her that make her act the way she does and its very relatable but she does know that what she's doing is wrong, which is the part that makes me detach from her character even if I'm still invested in her well being. It was very cleverly done.
This is the show Id say to watch if you like high school teen love triangle friendship kinda shows, its so easy to get through too as they're only 30 mins long.
Pokemon Journeys
I have seen EVERY Pokemon series so this was a must to start, but were only 12 episodes in so I cant exactly say if its good or not. Right now I liked the Sun and Moon series first few episodes more, but this one is going to be different. As far as I can tell, its called Journeys as Ash and his new friend Go (after the hit game Pokemon Go) travel around different regions and see/catch a lot of different Pokemon. Its based around the concept of the game really so I hope there's still some sort of storyline as we get deeper into the season.
Films:
Black widow:
This was a great film to fill the gap we had between Age of Ultron and Captain America Civil War. I always enjoy seeing the individual characters feelings and actions more closely in their own storylines, as I think they enhance how you watch them in the big collaboration films. Black widow is also a interesting character who's storyline is weaved into a lot of the MCU films so seeing how it unfolds is actually a great round of for the awesome character.
One Day:
No-one can dislike this film unless its because its because the ending is so sad! The main bulk of this story is so lovely and heartwarming as well as probably relatable to a lot of people as its about 2 people who are great friends who obviously like each other but never are in the right mindset at the same time.
If you've not seen it and youre a true romantic or adore love stories, add this to your list!
Awake:
This had a great concept. The idea of the entire of the human race not being able to sleep and them all slowly loosing their minds, except one, is an intriguing one.. but this films seems unfinished. They stretched out a maybe 1 hour worth of story into a feature film which I wished they'd just expanded on instead.
Good On Paper:
This on the other hand, I wouldn't urge you to watch. It was a strange concept which didn't really have any genre. It wasn't a thriller or a horror, or a romcom really, it was just a comedy that tried to be a psychological thriller I think, I don't really know.
Essentially its a guy meets girl but everything seems way too good to be true and obviously, it is. She's a stand up comedian so expect the one liners etc but as a whole, it didn't keep me interested and I wouldn't watch it again as the climax wasn't shocking at all.
Overall, I think my favourites this month were the Amazing Vacation Rentals, just down to the fact that we all need a little bit of a holiday and these episodes just gave me the inspiration to look at all the different places around the world and want to explore them.
Let me know what you have been loving this month and what I should add to my list down in the comments!!
Thanks for reading guys XX
